DING! DING! DING!! I think we have a winner! (Logo & Business Card)

So after posting my past design's and logo considerations as well as a rough business card design, on the CCAD Animation Collective's facebook page (seriously the best organization at CCAD in my opinion :3), I recieved a ton of helpful feedback from was great!

So, after alot of feedback and really helpful critiques I used the original designs sort of as a jumping off point and a basis of inspiration...

I really changed alot and pretty much the whole design...I think I like this one a whole lot better though!

(Also, as a side not the logo design, and the front of the business card are both ambigram's meaning it's the same right side up as it is upside down :3...yep pretty cool I think...and suprisingly harder to do than one might think...)

Ah, well enough it is!!!

-Enjoy! <3

I think this is all in all a vast improvement from where it was before in my opinion, but like all things there's still room for if you have any suggestions or critiques please leave some. It would be absolutely lovely to get feedback of any kind. :)

Business Card's Anyone?

I also was dabbling around with the first of the logo's which is the one I think as of late I'm leaning towards unless anyone else wants to weigh in...

But yea, neither here nor there...check out these sort of test business cards I made! :)

Opinions? Helpful hints? I'm all ears amigo's...

Logo's Anyone?

So, during this summer I wanted to continue working on the side on several small projects here and of which is creating a logo for myself.

I wanted something that embodies both me as a person and an artist...that reflects who I am and reflects the work that I do...

I wanted to as Charlotte Belland says keep it "Lovely Dirty"...

Here's a handful of some logo's I've come up with all similar in a way only with minor differences here and there...

Which ones do you like?

Design for Media #7

Project Duncan (Week 7)

Finished! Finito!!

"Distortion" (An Interactive Piece)

Video Glasses Test/Experiment-"Distortion" (An Interactive Piece) from Hannah Rivera on Vimeo.

So, what I decided to do for the last week on this project was to try and figure out some way to make this piece interactive...

So, I went to try out the head of MFA here at CCAD, Ric Petry's video glasses...which he so graciously let me borrow over the weekend...because he is super rad and awesome! :)

(Thank you Ric! :3)

So, yep...I went forth and had my video playing inside the glasses and had people watch it while I filmed their reactions and first impressions...

Here's what I got!

-Enjoy! <3

(Also as a side note! We really ought to get these things for the gallery here at CCAD :l just saying...ahem *hint hint* ;P)

This project was probably the most enjoyable yet...and I must say I'm kinda sad to see that it is all over...well here's to you Design for Media!!!

Cheers it's been Real Daddy-O! Catch you all on the flip-side! ;3

Design for Media #6

Project Duncan (Week 6)

So, I cut down the run time of my video drastically from last week...going from 5min 11sec down to 3mins and 6secs...

I think this cut helped the piece exponentially! It flows way better, and based on the feedback received last class, the final outcome of my project I am far more satisfied with.

So, thank you everyone! For the helpful suggestions and feedback received! You guy's are great! :3

Final Version! of D4M/Project Duncan!
"Distortion "

This is a experimental video based/inspired by David Lynch's "Distorted Nudes" book.

The video itself focuses on the subject matter of dreams and nightmares and the distortion of that reality and our perceptions during it; how during the strangeness of a dream or during the terror of a nightmare one is utterly and essentially nude and vulnerable to the situation and the experience. This is much like how one is literally and essentially nude and vulnerable sexually.

Thus, I chose to display images and visuals that were abstract in nature but also in a way nightmarish, and sexual at the same time. I wanted something that was beautiful, strange, scary, nightmarish, and sensual all at the same time...

This is what I got...

And I have to say that I am quite thrilled with the results! :D

The music was all mixed and the final outcome/product of it essentially made and complied by me. In the video is a variety of different sounds and tracks made by me on Soundtrack Pro, Aviary, and mixed with two David Lynch songs, and with part of a Hex Vessel song mixed in reverse.

All this thrown and mixed together is what makes the audio; much like how the footage is all thrown together and carefully pieced and overlayed to create a visual of distortion and abstract imagery.

Moreover, I have to say that this project was for me what "Distorted Nudes" was for David Lynch, it allowed me to experiment with and learn Final Cut Pro more proficiently. This whole experience was fantastic and I absolutely loved every second of "Project Duncan". :)

Now for next week, the final week for this project I'm still unsure of what I'm going to do exactly but I was thinking of maybe trying to figure out a way to creatively present my final piece in an engaging and interactive way. :)

Stay tuned!
